Our off-road adventure will carry you and your family on a journey of discovery to see the Wild Spanish Mustangs on the Northern Outer Banks.
        The Wild Horse Safari is an exciting and informative journey by four wheel drive that will carry you along pristine beaches, through windswept sea oak, hilly sand trails and miles of ocean, dune and maritime forest in search of these sturdy Mustangs.
        These magnificent horses have survived 400 years of harsh weather and limited vegetation to run free on the beautiful Currituck beaches and are descendants of the original Spanish Barb horses first brought here by Spanish explorers. Grazing peacefully, they are an incredible sight to behold in their natural habitat and the Wild Horse Safari will deliver you directly to them.
        The Safari is a 2 hour plus eco-adventure for the whole family that brings you eye to eye with wildlife, the fragile Outer Banks ecology, and local folklore and history. Along the way you'll visit a unique petrified forest, a giant sand dune called Penny's Hill, and the century old lifesaving station and watch tower. You'll also hear of local legend including that of the buried city of Seagull.
         Sightings of white-tail deer, wild boar and goats, the elusive red fox, and even the legendary Outer Banks buffalo have occurred, along with surfing dolphins and thousands of shorebirds. Kids love filling out the "Critter Count," a list of local wildlife most of which are seen on every trip. Come explore with our naturalist guides and learn the "nature" of these incredible barrier islands.

SEGWAY TOURS
Segway Certification
       Our first step is to get you Seg-Certified so that you will know everything you'll need to know to feel comfortable and safe while gliding thru one of our several tours. We'll learn our basic skills, proper operation of the Segway HT, its safety features and view a brief video with tips on proper sidewalk etiquette and safety.

Historic Corolla Village Segway Tour
       After completion of the Seg Certification and everyone is completely comfortable we will begin an exciting and unique "glide" thru the old Village of Corolla and view 5 historic landmarks that date from the turn of the Century when Corolla was just a sleepy little town. Glide past the Whalehead Club - a 1920's Hunt Club - the Chippendale Bridge, the 1875 Lighthouse and Caretakers House, the old Schoolhouse and the Corolla Chapel most of which are on the National Historic Register. Its fun and easy and you'll learn little tidbits about life in this sleepy little maritime village at the turn of the Century.

Spanish Mustang Reserve.
This is a best of both worlds tour that includes a 4WD excursion thru 30 miles of beach and dune to do an "off-road" Seg Experience on the brand new Segway XT -a fat tire off-road glider designed for varying terrain - We roll thru the Maritime forest located inside our private Spanish Mustang Reserve. With a little luck we will see the Mustangs up close and personal in their natural habitat if not from the Segways then from our four wheel drive Suburban. Not for the faint of heart - this tour requires an adventurous spirit and the rewards are great.
