The Fisherman’s Wharf Restaurant in Wanchese is a true Outer Banks seafood restaurant that offers more than just the typical Outer Banks fare. First, consider Fisherman’s Wharf’s location. Literally located on the docks of Wanchese Harbor, above Wanchese Fish Co. the Outer Banks seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf is as fresh as you can get it. Fishermans Wharf is owned by the Daniels family which also owns Wanchese Fish Company, so the restaurant gets the pick of the seafood coming into the Wanchese docks. From Fisherman’s Wharf, you can watch the boats unloading fresh catches. You can actually see a working waterfront while you eat your meal. It simply doesn’t get any fresher than the Outer Banks seafood at Fishermans Wharf in Wanchese. Second, consider that Fisherman’s Wharf primarily serves the year round Wanchese community, which is very discriminating about its seafood. Many Wanchese residents are actively involved in the seafood industry and know their seafood. If Fisherman’s Wharf wasn’t the “real deal” these folks would know it immediately. There is no fooling a fisherman, when it comes to fresh delicious Outer Banks seafood. Finally, consider the motivation behind Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant. Owned by the native Daniels’ family, Fisherman’s Wharf was opened for three reasons. Serve the local Wanchese community the freshest seafood available. Provide jobs to the Wanchese residents. And finally, do good for the Outer Banks community. One of the sons of Malc Daniels, the patriarch of the family, is a local minister, who has convinced the family to donate 100% of the profits generated by Fisherman’s Wharf to local charities and Christian ministries throughout the world. One of the sisters, who manages the daily activities of the restaurant works at no pay. Daniel’s family members pay for their own meals. The Fisherman’s Wharf is truly dedicated to helping the community, locally, nationally and internationally. So if you are looking for not only the best Outer Banks seafood, but to do some good for everyone in the meantime. Consider the trip to Wanchese Harbor and the freshest Outer Banks seafood available. Serving lunch and dinner Monday – Saturday all season.
