When planning activities, including Fort Macon Beach is an absolute. It is one of the most visited state parks in North Carolina, with over a million visitors a year; it is also the most visited site of any attraction on the Crystal Coast. Fort Macon Beach is just part of Fort Macon State Park. The main showplace is Fort Macon, one of the most complete forts of the Civil War era in the United States.
