Admiral Street Beach Access Summary
     Welcome to the legendary Nags Head beaches on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Admiral Street Beach Access is a public beach access with 16 Parking Spaces.  When visiting any beach please conserve the area and the wildlife. Do not drive, walk or allow pets in posted bird or turtle nesting areas. Not all Outer Banks beach accesses have trash facilities so please carry your trash out with you and dispose of it properly. Driving on the beach is a classic Outer Banks vacation pleasure, but is only permitted on the Nags Head beaches from October 1st through April 30th. You must apply, and receive a permit from the Nags Head Town Hall before you drive on any Nags Head beach. See Nags Head Town Administration in Community, Government Offices on this site for more location information. Enjoy the beaches but remember; Take only pictures or seashells and leave only footprints and sandcastles. No Permits Will Be Issued If The Winds Exceed 10 Knots.

  Beach Driving Rules & Information: No Open Containers Of Alcohol In Vehicles, All Vehicles & Drivers Must Observe All Licensing Requirements, Do Not Stop On Or Block Ramps Or Access Points, Enter & Leave The Beach Only At Designated Ramps Or Access Points, Drive Only Between The Foot Of The Dunes & The Ocean, Unless Marked Otherwise, Observe Speed Limit 15-20 Mph Is Recommended; Slow Down Around People, Pets & Wildlife, Watch For Children & Fishing Lines, Please Avoid Damaging Vegetation, No Reckless Driving, Defacing The Beach, Etc.
  Tips & Hints For Beach Driving : Use Only A Four-Wheel Drive Vehicle, Lower The Pressure In All Tires To Around 20 Psi., Check The Weather Forecast And Tide Tables, Sections Of The Beach Can Be Cut Off By High Tides, Avoid Getting Too Close To The Water, If Tires Start To Spin Back Up In Tire Tracks For Several Car Lengths Then Accelerate Slowly Forward, If Tires Continue To Spin Additional Deflation May Be Needed, Rangers Will Assist But Are Not Permitted To Pull Or Tow Vehicles, To Report Emergencies Call 9-1-1, Being Stuck Is Not An Emergency Unless There Is A Life-Threatening Situation In Progress, It Is Recommended That Vehicles Be Washed After Each Outing
  Recommended Equipment To Carry For Beach Driving: Litter Bags, Cell Phone, Beach Towing Service Telephone Number, Tire Pressure Gauge, Small Shovel, Spare Tire, Jack, Jack Support, 2’ Wood Plank At Least 2” Thick And 8” Wide, Tow Rope (At Least 18’ Long With A Load Strength Of 5000 Pounds Or Greater), Fire Extinguisher, First Aid Kit, Flashlight, Tide Table
  Recommendations For Your Day: Beach Towels, Sunscreen, Insect Repellant, Cooler, Ice, Drinking Water & Beverages, Snacks, Food
  Recommended Attire: Aqua Socks, Athletic Footwear, Lightweight Shoes, Water Resistant Shoes, Protective Shoes, Sandals, Change Of Clothes, Windbreaker, Hats, Swimwear, Water Resistant Clothing
